System to identify, manage, and rectify bad addresses within the database.

Context

Application used to scan returned snail mail and update internal address database with bad addresses for members and contacts.

Architectural Decisions

  • WinForms application for desktop use to integrate with local scanners.
  • Updated address labels on all outgoing mail to include unique barcodes for tracking.

Challenges

  • Integration with member records to update bad addresses.
  • Handling matching scanned addresses with internal database records.
  • Create automated system for communication with members to correct addresses.

Outcomes

  • WinForms application successfully scans returned mail and updates internal address database.
  • Improved accuracy of member address information.
  • Reduced costs associated with undeliverable mail.
  • Updated membership portal to notify members of bad addresses and allow them to update their information online.
  • Updated internal systems to notify staff of bad addresses and prompt for follow-up actions.
  • CallCenter integration to notify agents of bad addresses during member interactions.
